Privacy policy

Last updated: 9 September 2026

RollCall is operated by Lightning Rod Interactive for Running Intentionally. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information when you use RollCall. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and the Information Privacy Principles that apply in New Zealand.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use RollCall, we may collect:

  • account and identity information provided through our sign-in provider, such as your name, email address, and account identifier;
  • profile information, including your profile picture and other information you choose to add;
  • club memberships, events, check-ins, comments, photos, and other content you create or share;
  • technical information needed to run and secure the service, such as browser, device, log, and diagnostic information; and
  • information you send to us, including support or privacy requests.

How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • provide, personalise, and improve RollCall;
  • show clubs, events, attendance, profiles, and content to the people who are allowed to see them;
  • authenticate accounts, prevent misuse, and keep the service secure;
  • respond to requests and communicate about the service; and
  • meet our legal and operational obligations.

Who we share it with

We share information only when needed to operate RollCall, provide a feature you request, protect the service, or comply with the law. This may include our sign-in provider, hosting and infrastructure providers, and service providers that process information for us. We do not sell personal information.

Some providers may store or process information outside New Zealand. When we use an overseas provider, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the information is protected in a way that is consistent with New Zealand privacy requirements.

Public and shared content

Information you add to a public profile, club, event, comment, or photo may be visible to other RollCall users or visitors. Please only share information that you are comfortable making available to those audiences.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above, unless the law requires or allows us to keep it longer. When information is no longer needed, we will securely delete it or anonymise it where practicable.

Your privacy rights

You may ask for access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you. You may also ask us to delete information that we no longer need, subject to legal and operational requirements. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within the timeframe required by the Privacy Act 2020, normally within 20 working days.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure, so please protect your account and let us know promptly if you think it has been misused.
